Hickory Museum of Art
There’s always something to see, do, and discover at Hickory Museum of Art. Located in downtown Hickory’s SALT Block, HMA is a place to slow down, explore great art, get inspired, and connect with other people.
Founded in 1944, HMA has grown from a small community art museum into a vibrant part of Hickory’s cultural life. Today, you’ll find an ever-changing mix of exhibitions, works from the permanent collection, classes, programs, and events for all ages. Hickory Museum of Art represents and promotes the Unifour region (Catawba, Caldwell, Burke, and Alexander Counties) as a center of innovative creativity and inclusive community through its commitment to visual arts, education, and collaboration.
At the heart of everything we do is our mission: ART for ALL. That means making art welcoming and accessible to everyone, with free admission and opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience, learn from, and engage with art.
After a major transformation, HMA has reopened with fresh spaces, new ways to experience art, and plenty of room to imagine what comes next. Whether you’re a longtime art lover or just curious to see what’s inside, come on in and spend some time with us.
