Dance in Catawba County!

Catawba County's dance scene is centered around Hickory Ballet & Performing Arts (HBPA), a nonprofit organization. HBPA offers performance opportunities through its Youth Ballet Company and Youth Performing Arts Company, collaborating with local institutions such as the Western Piedmont Symphony and Hickory Museum of Art. Additionally, HBPA's annual productions, including The Nutcracker and spring musicals, showcase the talents of its students and contribute to the cultural landscape of Catawba County. Beyond ballet, the county supports a range of dance styles through independent companies, cultural organizations, and community groups—from modern and experimental dance to hip-hop, African, Latin and Square dance traditions.
