Annual Oktoberfest Festival 2026

Hickory’s Oktoberfest is a three-day annual festival held in Downtown Hickory each October and has become one of the region’s most anticipated community events. Organized by the Hickory Downtown Development Association, the festival celebrates Hickory’s rich German heritage while showcasing the energy, culture, and spirit of downtown. Each year, tens of thousands of visitors gather in the heart of the city to enjoy live entertainment, beer gardens, food vendors, craft vendors, Kidsfest activities, and family-friendly experiences throughout the downtown district.

Originally inspired by Hickory’s strong German roots and its connection to German-born co-founder Adolphus “Dolph” Shuford, Oktoberfest has grown into a signature regional event that blends tradition with a vibrant modern downtown atmosphere. The festival features multiple stages of live music ranging from traditional polka to rock and contemporary entertainment, along with local food, shopping, and interactive activities that create a welcoming experience for attendees of all ages.
