Susan describes her background and approach to art history:
“Life and learning should be an exciting ongoing process. Having travelled extensively throughout the world and lived outside the U.S. in Europe for twenty years, I bring a unique rich perspective to art education and its histories. My master’s degree is in Adult Education. I have studied art at North Texas State University, held and attended multiple art workshops, and taught art privately.
Serendipitously, my main mentor, teacher, and friend for three decades was Nguyen-Tri-Minh, a 1950s Saigon University art graduate, famous throughout Vietnam for his landscape paintings. He was celebrated by the U.S. embassy in Saigon, and an exhibitor for the Smithsonian Institute in the U.S. From him, I learned the art of Chinese watercolor, and a sense of art’s principles from an Asian viewpoint.”
