SALT Block Foundation

The SALT Block Foundation (SBF) oversees the operation and long-term care of the SALT Block, a shared arts and culture campus in Hickory, North Carolina. The Foundation provides the majority of occupancy and facility costs for its resident organizations, including Arts Culture Catawba, Catawba Science Center, Hickory Choral Society, Hickory Museum of Art, and Western Piedmont Symphony.

By funding essential building needs such as utilities, maintenance, capital improvements, building management, and security, the SALT Block Foundation allows its resident organizations to focus on what they do best: delivering meaningful programs, exhibitions, performances, and educational experiences that enrich the region’s quality of life. In addition, the SALT Block offers affordable event, meeting, and party spaces, making the campus a vibrant gathering place for the community.
